Review: Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008)

Awful, just awful!
Screenplay By: Shotaro Suga
Directed By: Makoto Kamiya
There’s no need for any long winded hyperbolic review when it comes to Resident Evil: Degeneration, I will keep it short and sweet. Avoid this movie at all costs, even if you are a fan of the games. It is mindless drivel, with an insane plot that doesn’t make a lick of sense, action that isn’t all that good, the fake looking CG animation that the Japanese so seem to love for their video game to screen adaptions. And I don’t know if it was only my copy, or if it’s something that will be fixed for later releases, but the noise sync was horrendously bad. The voices and sounds would happen at least two seconds after a gun went off or a character spoke, it made for a terrible viewing experience.
I realize that a lot of Resident Evil fans will try and paint this as a good addition to the universe, but it isn’t. It’s schlock through and through, and if you know what is good for you, you will avoid Resident Evil: Degeneration in any fashion possible.

Pretty much, most reviews I’ve read begin with “I’m a fan of anything RE and this was great.” Well, I’m a huge RE fan and I couldn’t stand this. Hmmm…
