Cronenberg, You Know You Love Him!

If you want more excellent David Cronenberg reviews then look inside!

It’s no secret that I am a big David Cronenberg fan. Recently a friend of mine, Edgar, conducted a mini-Cronenberg marathon at his choice movie blog, Between The Seats. He tackled a number of films, and I highly suggest reading all of them. Just click on the movie title to head straight to the review,

The Brood (1979)
Videodrome (1983)
Dead Ringers (1988)
M. Butterfly (1993)
Naked Lunch (1991)
The Fly (1986)
A History Of Violence (2005)
Existenz (1999)
Eastern Promises (2007)

Like I said, Edgar’s blog is a great one, he always has interesting insights into film. Stop by Between The Seats and I’m sure you’ll enjoy his writing as much as I do.

I would also like to give a shout out to my favorite film podcast going today, A Damn Movie Podcast. They are in the middle of a Cronenberg festival of their own. So far they have covered,

Naked Lunch (Episode #69)
The Fly (Episode #70)
Videodrome (Episode #72)

They will also be covering Dead Ringers in the upcoming episode #73.

Be sure to head to A Damn Movie Podcast and check these guys out, they are available through iTunes or you can download episodes straight from their site. Their podcast is a great one, and if you go for the Cronenberg you should stick around for the rest.

Cheers,
Bill

  1. Kronenberg’s the man. What else is there to say.

  2. I had never listened to A Damn Movie Podcast. I certainly will now. Thanks for those links. Shout outs never hurt either. Much obliged.

I confess that I have only seen “A History of Violence,” “Eastern Promises” and “The Fly,” but I liked them all, so I’ll have to check out what else Cronenberg has done. Anybody who can choreograph a naked fight scene THAT well deserves a huge following!

  4. No problem Edgar, as I said I quite enjoy your writing. I still need to read all your Cronenberg reviews again, preferably when someone isn’t distracting me, but I know what you can do so I know the ones I haven’t yet gotten to will be good.

I highly recommend A Damn Movie Podcast, it’s really laid back, and smart with just enough of a pop culture bent to it. I think you’ll enjoy it.
